Rafaela Perkins, MPT

Rafaela obtained her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from St. George’s University of London, a well known medical teaching hospital in the United Kingdom. Prior to PT school, she received her undergraduate degree from Trinity College where she studied environmental sciences. After working as project manager for several years, she could no longer ignore the pull she felt towards health, rehabilitation and exercise science. In addition to her Masters degree, she has also completed a rehabilitative pilates mat course through the APPI and a massage therapy certification through the London School of Massage. As a physical therapist, she likes to promote a more holistic treatment approach in order to help individuals reach their goals through manual therapy, soft tissue massage, targeted exercise prescription, and identification of lifestyle choices that are conducive to supporting one’s recovery. She most enjoys working in the outpatient setting treating musculoskeletal conditions whether that be post-operative rehabilitation or management of orthopedic pathologies. Although she got her Masters degree “across the pond,” she is proud to be a San Francisco native. When she’s not in the clinic, you can either find her at a pilates reformer class, with family/friends, hiking in the headlands, or attempting to surf the chilly waters of Bolinas.
